HTC announces first WiMAX-equipped smartphone, the Max 4G



HTC has announced what looks to be the first cell phone to support both GSM and WiMAX networks, the Max 4G. Powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and using HTC's TouchFLO user interface, the Max 4G looks to be a complete package.

The Max 4G includes tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900MHz) support in addition to dual-band WiMAX (2500/2700MHz) for use on the Yota WiMAX network in Russia. The Max 4G also features an oversized 3.8" WVGA (480x800 pixels) resolution touchscreen display.

The Max 4G is set to launch in Russia on November 26th, though pricing was not announced.
