Today Samsung and T-Mobile officially announced the Samsung SGH-T929 Memoir 3G cameraphone, a device that has been popping up in the rumor mill quite often over the past couple of weeks. Like the T919 Behold, the Memoir is a full touchscreen phone that features Samsung's widget-based TouchWIZ user interface. New to the memoir, however, is the 8 megapixel autofocus camera, which happens to be backed up by a real Xenon flash unit. Adding to the convenience factor of the camera, captured photos can be uploaded directly to popular websites like Flickr, Kodak Gallery, Photobucket, and Snapfish.
The Memoir supports Bluetooth for both calls as well as for stereo music, which is nice since it sports a full music player application and supports microSD memory cards for storage expansion. An on-screen QWERTY keyboard can be used for SMS, MMS, email, and instant messaging tasks, while built-in GPS support enables the use of navigation services and other location aware applications.
No word yet on pricing or actual availability dates yet, but T-Mobile did note that the 3G capable T929 Memoir will be available both in the company's 3G and non-3G service areas.
