Today at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show, T-Mobile launched the anticipated Shadow 2009, a replacement for the original T-Mobile Shadow smartphone. Redesigned for 2009, the Shadow features a spin navigation wheel and a slide-out 20-key hybrid QWERTY keyboard.
The Shadow 2009 includes quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) support with WiFi for high-speed data connections. The Shadow 2009 also supports UMA(INFO), which enables T-Mobile's HotSpot@Home service and allows subscribers the ability to extend coverage with their home WiFi network.
The Shadow is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard and features a 2 megapixel camera with microSD card slot for expanded storage. The smartphone should be available in coming weeks from T-Mobile, though pricing details were not announced.
